Psalm 111:1

A New Beginning

Love My Tribe.

A while ago, I had the amazing opportunity to join a team of women, passionate about God, to deliver a Journey through the Bible reading plan. The plan, begun in February 2020, was to read 3 chapters a day, and complete some bible study questions, and by the end of the week, to deliver a thematic teaching based on the readings. I was invited to be one of the teachers. Initially hesitant to join, not sure if I could commit my time, I followed God’s prompting. And so began an amazing Journey through the Word of God.

And then the world went into lockdown! Suddenly, I had lots of time to commit to doing what I loved. The in-depth study of God’s Word, and helping some 500 women from around the globe understand and deep dive into the themes of the Bible. It was an amazing time, and I have never valued God’s leading more than during those difficult initial months of the pandemic that shook the world. For whilst the eyes of the world were on the rising number of sick and dying, my eyes were focused on God.

Don’t hear me wrong! We prayed. We prayed hard. Many of our group were severely affected by what was going on in the world. As they lost jobs, money, opportunities, but most of all the lives of their family members. But for us it wasn’t a tally, but a telling of God’s grace. As we up held each other, encouraged each other, supported each other, and together read through the Word of God.

Our journey together ended in June 2021. It was an amazing time. But God. But God’s leading, nudging me to accept the invitation, or I would not have come to know these amazing women, many of whom have become friends. But God’s grace, as we were able to focus on Him, rather than on the worries of the World. But God’s mercy that we were able to support one another in prayer through some very tough times. But God’s joy as we celebrated together the finish line.

I am so very blessed to be one of those that joined you in that journey. A funny story…I knew no one in journey and had no clue how I even heard about it! It definitely also was a God thing! I am also so thankful to have become one of your friends. How blessed! Read thru the bible for the first time ever, received amazing teaching, and met many friends along the way. You, my friend are part of my tribe!

I was one of those that took that same journey and your teaching, urging and example went a long way toward the growth I feel I’ve had in my life since C19 began is invaluable. Your continued contact, teaching and encouragement is so appreciated and I thank God that you are part of my ‘tribe’ every day.
